Small update

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Well, a day after my last update, Chloe got a mouth infection.  She got into something that messed up her gums and she could hardly eat for like 2-3 days.  She finally got better and is growing really fast now.  She’s starting to bite really hard and has cut open my fingers like 3 separate times.. I gotta get her to stop that.  Newest picture of her:

As for me, I’m starting to get sick I think.  My throat feels scratchy and my nose is really runny.  I’ve felt like absolute shit the last couple of days.  On top of that, I was supposed to go to Toledo today, and right before I left, the car started making shitty noises.  It turned out to be the egr valve being fried, which caused the wires around it to melt.  So $200 later, I got a new egr valve and we got that put on and fixed.  Still have to get the new wires as well as the tensioner for my belt to get that fixed… fuck having a car.

As far as poker goes, ASDFHLAKJHFADSFH.

That’s all for now I think, heading to bed.

Downswing + new member of my family

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

So since my last post.. Things have kinda sucked.  I really haven’t gotten pictures of the house, because I’ve been pretty upset.  I’m on my biggest monetary downswing ever, it got up to like 15k before I started booking wins two days ago.  I’m pretty upset, and after one day of -7 buyins, I went out and bought a PS3 and a few games to ease the pain.  It helped but I was still pretty sad.  Then on Monday, I played live poker with 6-7 guys from my new town, and after that Pete and I grinded online, and later Leo came over… with his puppy.

It made me realllllly want a puppy, so yesterday Skyler (and her son Tristan) and I went to the pet store.  They had no puppies but told us to go to the humane society.  We got all the way out there and the humane society was closed for the day.  We called information and found out where the animal shelter was and went there.  We went into the first cage, and there was a litter of 5 puppies as well as 2 or 3 other puppies.  They were all loud and jumping up to the fence.. except one puppy.  She was so calm and so relaxed.

`We liked her right off the bat, but we went into the other room, and saw a beautiful husky puppy but it was unable to be adopted until the 19th.  Sad story.. the rest of the puppies were really meh, so we went back into the first cage and pulled out the shy, quiet puppy and played with her.  She was really upbeat and excited and got along with Tristan really well.  Soooo, $55 later, and $300 at PetCo later.. we adopted Chloe.

Here she is on the way home from the animal shelter:

After we got home, she and I played for a bit, but she was whining a lot because she missed her brothers and sisters.. and she still does today, but she’s getting better.  She’s really cuddly and loving and just really is a good dog so far.  She slept well through the night, but on our walk this morning.. the garbage truck passed us and hit a bump and it made a really loud crash noise and that combined with Chloe still being kind of asleep made her insanely afraid of walking on the sidewalk.  It’s gonna take a lot of training to get her to be okay again I think.. but other than that, she’s the perfect puppy.

Here she is playing with her frisbee this morning after we calmed her down:

So yeah, I’m on anti-tilt for quite a while now with Chloe in my life.  Trying to get things around and get happier.  Chloe’s about to wake up though (she’s chillin on my lap :)), so I’m gonna cut this off.

Good luck at the tables!

Early morning ramblings again

So I’m officially moved into my new house in Bowling Green.  I turned in the keys to my old apartment yesterday morning and have all of my belongings here.  I’ll have pictures when I finish unpacking, and when Best Buy comes to deliver my TV.  “What TV” you ask?  Well I strolled into Best Buy after finishing stuff up with the old apartment.. and they had the display model of Samsung’s 61A750 (Yes, that’s 61″ <3) left for $1700 (originally $1900).  I bought that, a nice stand for it and installation/calibration.  Ended up being $2800ish or something, but that doesn’t matter to me because I just hit Supernova earlier today and sent in my receipt for concierge already.  They haven’t replied to me yet but they already said it was approved, so I assume I’ll get the money soonly.

I’m jumping from one thing to another because I’ve been awake for 26 hours and I played poker for 14 of those hours.  It was my first session since moving into the place, and I really like having an office, it makes me more determined to get good, solid hands in because there’s no TV, there’s no xbox, there’s nothing but a computer, and it’s so helpful to get hands in.  I got something around 7500 hands in today, made $6k.  This month is going well, up something like $10k overall for the month, and really feeling good about where my game’s going.

My next update will be either Wednesday night or Thursday morning after my TV gets installed, and I’ll have house pictures in that entry.  I turn 21 on Tuesday, but I don’t drink so it’s not really a big deal other than the fact that it’s a “milestone” birthday or whatever.

Okay, headed to bed, g’night guys!
